Adrenaline junkie Landlord Richard Jennings and his team at Solihull's Olton Tavern took part in a charity bungee jump last night (17th March).  

Those brave enough to take part plunged a staggering 200ft all for a good cause!

Orchid’s Independent Local Pubs finished their latest charity drive by introducing CEO Rufus Hall to his namesake ‘Ruffie’!

Fifteen of Orchids pubs took part in a charity campaign raising a staggering £22,000 in just under 5 months, funding two new Canine Partners. 

The Orchid Group is celebrating being placed at number 20 in the Sunday Times Best 25 Big Companies to work for.

Praised for its clear communication and strong team spirit, 84% of staff members said they had fun working together.  Placed 5^th overall for wellbeing, staff reported a real sense of family amongst colleagues.

Manchester’s Sawyer’s Arms was selected as one of only 9 pubs nationwide to launch 3D TV on Sunday 31^st January.

Thanks to Sky’s brand new technology, the Premier League clash between Arsenal and Manchester United was filmed in 3D and broadcast over the Sky platform with customers becoming the first audiences anywhere in the world to experience live Premier League in 3D.

Make a ‘twitching’ weekend of it at the Quays, Mytchett  on the 30^th & 31^st January as Manager Jenny and her team will be transforming their outdoor area into a hide perfect for bird lovers.

Fifty of Orchid's Dragon and Carvery pubs have joined forces to launch a brand new charity campaign called ‘Project Re-Gift’. 

Aimed at helping orphans in Thailand on the fifth anniversary of the Tsunami, the campaign will also help disadvantaged kids across the UK.

British Food Fortnight (19^th September - 4^th October 2009) has once again proven to be a key business building opportunity for the pub trade, with the Orchid Group reporting a 4% lift in sales during their British Food Fortnight promotions.

The Morning Advertiser has just announced The Alexandra in Harrogate as the winner of the Best Managed Pub 2009 for Yorkshire and the North East at the Great British Pub Awards.

Latest research by The Orchid Group, reveals that almost 9 out of 10 parents (88%) are dissatisfied with pub food choices for children.  What’s more, almost two thirds of parents (65%) admit to sneaking in food due to the poor selection of children’s food available.

Pub customers all across the country have donated an estimated £10,000 worth of school equipment to the 'Home and Away Appeal' a campaign launched by Orchid's Free House Dining pubs - to support disadvantaged kids in the UK and Romania, as they prepare for the new school year.

Orchid’s Independent Local pubs are proud to introduce ‘Orchid’ their new puppy purchased for Canine Partners - a charity specialising in highly-trained assistance dogs to help people with disabilities.

Fifteen pubs joined forces to raise a staggering £11,500 - and there is plenty more to come.  In fact, fundraising is going so well, they hope to buy a second dog - ‘Ruffie’ (named after CEO Rufus Hall) in early September. 

He shoots…he scores! Pub regular Ash Stevenson from Cheshunt, Herts, has certainly done that, scooping a £10,000 jackpot in the Orchid Group’s national Fantasy Football League.  Presenting his winnings was new Cheshunt FC Manager Bob Dearie.

It’s set to be a fun packed summer bank holiday weekend for the whole family at the popular Fairfield Arms pub, Manchester Road, Audenshaw.

The five-day, completely FREE, ‘Great British Garden Party’ kicks off on Thursday 27^th August.

The Orchid Group celebrated its third birthday in style with a bash to remember at one of its pubs, The Green Dragon in Winchmore Hill. 

A fantastic night was had by all with employees getting the chance to tear a strip off the boss - literally! - in a charity leg wax auction starring CEO Rufus Hall.

Orchid has acquired 10 businesses from Bar Room Bar Ltd, in a move demonstrating the operator’s active strategy of acquiring distressed assets in the pub and restaurant sector.
